We celebrated Easter with my family on Saturday evening. It turned out to be a beautiful day. The kids were able to play outside for a while - before it started getting chilly. Here are the cousins after getting their egg limit - 23 a piece! (Note the sagging baskets...)

Salma reaching for the hidden eggs on the fence.

Janelle - Salma and Antonio's cousin - looking cute in all pink with her egg filled basket.

Antonio and Jacob trying to find the last few eggs. We told Jacob he needed to let the lil ones get the low eggs - and he needed to look for the harder ones. The result - Levi had about 20 eggs - and Jacob was running around with only 2 in his basket. Had to change the strategy - go Jacob - go get some eggs :)

Levi filling up his basket. He loves candy - and wasn't too sad when a few eggs opened up in his basket - as he quickly started eating some tasty treats.

On Sunday morning, we went to church and the boys sported their new ties and shirts. Jacob informed me previously - that although the tie is called a "clip on" tie - it is really a "slide on" tie. He is so smart! After we got home, we hid the Resurrection Eggs and then the boys found them one at at time and brought them back to the egg crate. After we got them all back, they each opened them one at a time to reveal a symbol of the true Easter story - as we explained what it meant. Jacob loves this - and wanted to do the "Jesus Eggs" again.

My boys - all ready before church.

Here we are all ready. Notice Jacob's mouth - he was so enjoying the bright red punch Uncle Joey brought the night before for dinner - and we failed to wash his mouth well to get that fun red dye off. Mmm....mmmm......good!

Jacob did pretty well as the photographer - if we could just look less sleepy :)

The boys being silly by their Easter baskets. They had some fun Veggie Tales candy at Wal-Mart this year - can you believe it! Along with lots of candy - both boys got some new books. They love reading - and have enjoyed their books.

On Saturday morning when Jacob found out we were celebrating Easter - he was so excited and said he loved Easter because he gets to find eggs that have candy inside. While this is a fun part of being a kid at Easter - hopefully they will soon understand and remember the true reason we celebrate and what those Resurrection Eggs really mean to each of us.
