Easter 2010

We celebrated Easter with my family on Saturday evening. It turned out to be a beautiful day. The kids were able to play outside for a while - before it started getting chilly. Here are the cousins after getting their egg limit - 23 a piece! (Note the sagging baskets...)

Salma reaching for the hidden eggs on the fence.

Janelle - Salma and Antonio's cousin - looking cute in all pink with her egg filled basket.

Antonio and Jacob trying to find the last few eggs. We told Jacob he needed to let the lil ones get the low eggs - and he needed to look for the harder ones. The result - Levi had about 20 eggs - and Jacob was running around with only 2 in his basket. Had to change the strategy - go Jacob - go get some eggs :)

Levi filling up his basket. He loves candy - and wasn't too sad when a few eggs opened up in his basket - as he quickly started eating some tasty treats.

On Sunday morning, we went to church and the boys sported their new ties and shirts. Jacob informed me previously - that although the tie is called a "clip on" tie - it is really a "slide on" tie. He is so smart! After we got home, we hid the Resurrection Eggs and then the boys found them one at at time and brought them back to the egg crate. After we got them all back, they each opened them one at a time to reveal a symbol of the true Easter story - as we explained what it meant. Jacob loves this - and wanted to do the "Jesus Eggs" again.

My boys - all ready before church.

Here we are all ready. Notice Jacob's mouth - he was so enjoying the bright red punch Uncle Joey brought the night before for dinner - and we failed to wash his mouth well to get that fun red dye off. Mmm....mmmm......good!

Jacob did pretty well as the photographer - if we could just look less sleepy :)

The boys being silly by their Easter baskets. They had some fun Veggie Tales candy at Wal-Mart this year - can you believe it! Along with lots of candy - both boys got some new books. They love reading - and have enjoyed their books.

On Saturday morning when Jacob found out we were celebrating Easter - he was so excited and said he loved Easter because he gets to find eggs that have candy inside. While this is a fun part of being a kid at Easter - hopefully they will soon understand and remember the true reason we celebrate and what those Resurrection Eggs really mean to each of us.

Going to the Chapel and We're Gonna Get Married

My niece Wendy Walsh got married on March 20th to Mike Zamboni (a relation to the famed - Zamboni ice resurfacer). They were married on Trinidad Head - mountain with an ocean view. This is one of the signs directing us where to proceed as we hiked up the hill to the ceremony site.

It was much nicer than everyone imagined it would be in mid-March. Here is one of the beautiful views from the hill.

Right after they were introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Zamboni.
The boys getting ready to head to the big event. They did well during the wedding - mostly because they had some bubbles that entertained them.
Wendy's mom and dad walked her down the aisle - and handed her off to Mike.

After the ceremony, we walked down the mountain - and then made our way to the reception at the Town Hall. Jim and I brought our car to the parking lot - Nana and Poppop had not. So - they hitched a ride - in the back. Nothing like making your parents ride in the trunk! Really - it was only a short couple of blocks to the reception - really......
Levi getting his groove on at the reception. This is his form of dancing!
Mom and Dad - looking more presentable :)
The Ramsey Fam after eating some good food at the reception.
Jackie and Debbie hanging out - at the par-tay!
Cousins - being silly - getting tickled to try to smile. They were nearing their done point.
My nephew Marty and his son Holden who just turned 2.
Wendy dancing with Grandpa. You'd think he was a pro.....good thing Wendy had tennies on so she could quickly avoid ol' fumble feet :)

The happy couple - having a sweet dance together.
Although the dreaded road trip was long - it was remarkably pleasant with two lil guys who did pretty well on their first long trip. They are definitely getting older - and able to travel more. Look out world - here we come - on more Griswold family vacations.

Northern California Coast

On the weekend of March 19th, we travelled to the northern California coast - to the Eureka area for my niece Wendy's wedding. Saturday morning we visited the beach - the first time for Levi and 2nd time for Jacob (we went to Myrtle Beach when Jacob was almost 2). It was a bit chilly - but until the wind picked up - it was pretty nice.

When we got to Eureka on Friday afternoon - it was amazingly warm. The warmest I have ever seen it there.

We picked up some shells and sand dollars. It was fun - til my ears started aching from the chill! The ocean freaks me out a bit - with lil boys roaming around. Daddy realized a bit too late that a jacket would have been nice.

Salma Turns 4!

Salma turned 4 on March 7 - and we celebrated on Saturday the 13th. It was kinda chilly - so we stayed mostly indoors and enjoyed the par-tay! Here is Salma - and several of her cousins.

Pin the Tail on the Donkey - who can get it the closest! Here is Levi giving it a try.

Salma - getting blindfolded - no peeking!

Jacob checking out his spot - slightly on the wrong end of the donkey.....

Then they played "Hot Potato" - or "Hot Pink Teddy Bear" - which is much softer and just as fun!

The lil Princess Salma - looking all cute and grown up!

It was a fun afternoon. The boys always love going to Uncle Joey's house - playing with lots of toys - video games - going outside - and just having a fun place to be and freedom to be a kid. Can't wait til next year!

Silly Boys

Daddy had a great idea for a new hat...........I'm not sure about it being so great......

But - it might be good blackmail pictures for their future......

What we make our kids do!!!

Trains......Chuggachugga.........Choochoo

On the President's Day Holiday - we went to a friend's birthday party. Ian attends the boys' daycare - and turned 3. We went to the Train Museum downtown first - and then had lunch and cake outside on some picnic tables afterwards. For February - it was pretty nice. Here are the boys styling in these sweet conductor hats!

Checking out some train stuff.

Posing for the camera at some of the cool sites.

Daddy and Levi by a real train. They had several train cars - that you could walk through. There was a dining car, sleeper car, and other real trains - along with a play area with Thomas trains too.

Jacob and Levi in front of a real engine.

Here is lil Ian - blowing out candles on his homemade train cake.

It was a fun day - and the first time we had been to the train museum. We look forward to going again.

All Dressed Up

Jacob wore one of his Daddy's ties to AWANA on Tie Night - and after that - really wanted his own tie. Here he is wearing his own official "clip-on" tie.

How cute is he? He is getting so big - only a few months until we register him for kindergarten.
